Home or Blended Learning

Our learners’ are always our priority and so at the first instance, CHL will make every attempt to ensure that school stays open for as many learners as possible during the current pandemic. Should the need arise (due to staffing or if we are advised by TTP or Welsh Government), we may need to move to partial closure and in this case we will follow a blended learning approach.

Blended Learning (partial school closure)

  1. Should your child(ren) be unable to attend school due to Public Health Wales guidelines or if they have been asked to self-isolate at home by TTP please follow this work stream at home.

2. Should an individual class have to close and their teacher is fit to work from home, then the following guidance would apply ...

Foundation Phase

Foundation Phase will use Seesaw to access work during any class closure. Ms Philpotts and Mrs Knight will post work daily first thing each morning to your child's account. Teachers will also be able to provide feedback.

Pupils will also have daily access to their teacher via a Microsoft Teams registration meeting.

Key Stage 2

Key Stage 2 pupils will use Google Classroom to access their work logging on through their Hwb accounts during any class closure. Teachers will post work daily onto the classroom stream and children can hand in their work on here for marking.

Pupils will also have daily access to their teacher via a Microsoft Teams registration meeting.

3. If the class teacher is unable to work and suitable cover arrangements are unable to be found, then the following arrangements would apply

Foundation Phase

Should your class teacher be unable to work and class be closed then daily work will be posted onto Seesaw for you to access work by another member of staff.

Pupils will still be invited to a daily well-being check-in which another member of staff will run.

Unfortunately in this case, it is unlikely that individual feedback would be possible due to low staffing levels.

Key Stage 2

Should your class teacher be unable to work and so your class asked to learn from home, daily work will be posted onto your Google Classroom (which your child can access their work logging on through their Hwb accounts).

Pupils will still be invited to a daily well-being check-in which another member of staff will run.

Unfortunately in this case, it is unlikely that individual feedback would be possible due to low staffing levels.
